The Georgetown University Research & Innovation Showcase is an annual conference that spotlights the cutting-edge research and commercialization efforts conducted here on campus.

We are pleased to announce the date for the next showcase: April 22, 2026!

In 2026, we’re returning with a reimagined and even more packed showcase with the theme Partnerships Power Possibilities. Hosted by OTC in partnership with Georgetown Advancement and Georgetown Entrepreneurship at the McDonough School of Business, the event features a full day of learning, networking, and recognition.

Historically, Georgetown has launched transformative technologies like the whole-body CT scanner, the allergy medication Allegra, and the HPV vaccine Gardasil. The research featured at the showcase this year will become the next-generation solutions of tomorrow.

Partner with Georgetown’s innovation engine

We have various opportunities, beyond attending as an audience member, to take part in the Research & Innovation Showcase. Please use the below links to apply for these opportunities. The 2025 event drew 431 attendees and showcased 19 researchers and startups, sparking collaborations that lead to results.

Researchers: Apply to present your innovation. The showcase is the fastest way to get your cutting-edge research in front of industry decision-makers, secure vital feedback, and connect with potential partners and funding.
Startups: Apply to join the startup pitch parade if you have a Georgetown-affiliated company connected through a license, alumni, or students.
Industry: Ask for submissions to a reverse pitch from researchers. You’ll gain exclusive access to a pipeline of market-ready intellectual property and talent.
Recognize peers: Do you know of a researcher, student, startup founder, partner, or member of the innovation community who deserves recognition? Submit your Crystal Award nominations here by Feb. 6.

Event day highlights

10 am- 11 am: Panel on research translation

Hear from a panel of national policy leaders and industry representatives on the state of university research translation and how this serves the greater good.

11 am- 12 pm: Georgetown research showcase

Leading Georgetown researchers discuss cutting-edge research and the real-world problems we are actively addressing.

12 pm – 1:15 pm: Lunch and networking

Time to talk and network with your peers and future collaborators. Lunch will be provided. Please register via Eventbrite once available so organizers have an accurate head count for planning purposes.

1 pm – 2:30 pm: Industry reverse pitch

Industry representatives discuss market challenges they are actively addressing – you might have the solution! We’ll post more about the companies presenting as the event date draws nearer.

2:30 pm – 2:45 pm: Short break and networking

One more opportunity to talk with new connections and reconnect with colleagues. Added by popular demand for additional networking time (we heard you!)

2:45 pm – 3:45 pm: Startup pitch parade

Startups backed by Georgetown research, students, and alumni pitch their companies to you. (If you are a Georgetown-affiliated startup and wish to pitch at the event, please submit your request through the Google form above.)

3:45 pm – 4 pm: Short break and networking

A final opportunity for networking before we move to the awards ceremony, the red carpet of research.

4 pm – 5 pm: 2026 Innovation Awards

Our annual awards ceremony recognizes the hard work and commitment shown by our researchers, startups, partners, and all members who contribute to our entrepreneurial community.

5 pm – 7:30 pm: Evening reception and networking

To celebrate the culmination of a wonderful day of research, innovation and learning, we will gather in the Fisher Colloquium for the event closing, refreshments, and conversation into the evening. A perennial highlight of the day’s agenda.
