FY23 Build to Scale – Venture Challenge
Georgetown’s Office of Technology Commercialization is thrilled to share that our FY2023 Build to Scale Venture Challenge application has been selected for funding out of 220 proposals nationwide.
Today, the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) announced the “Build to Scale” grants, and Georgetown University is among the 60 organizations receiving support.
We are honored to receive $750,000 from the Build to Scale – Venture Challenge to advance technology-based economic development, foster regional innovation ecosystems, and promote the commercialization of cutting-edge technologies.
This is a testament to our commitment to nurturing emerging companies, collaborating with our innovative community, and leveraging our entrepreneurial ecosystems for impactful change!
“The Venture Challenge seeks to advance technology-based economic development and nurture regional innovation ecosystems that promote the commercialization of new technologies, strengthen growing industry clusters, and lead to the expansion of high-paying economic opportunities in communities, regions, or combinations of regions.
This competition offers three funding levels—Build, Scale, and Ignite—designed for grantees to implement programming that reflects the maturity and capacity of their respective innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystems.
The Venture Challenge invites organizations to submit competitive proposals that seek to support entrepreneurship and accelerate the growth of technology-based companies in their community, region, or combination of regions that are aligned with high-growth industrial clusters.”
