Georgetown Tech Ventures

Georgetown Tech Ventures (GTV) is a new program launched under Georgetown’s Office of Technology Commercialization and funded through the Economic Development Administration’s B2S program, which is focused on helping to move innovations developed by faculty and students into the marketplace.
GTV focuses on implementing a research translation program to enable technology-based startups to contribute effectively to the economic ecosystem in the Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) region. The project aims to assist startups by employing proven strategies:

The successful completion of the GTV project will increase research- and technology-based startup ventures, thereby enhancing the DC contribution to a thriving DMV technology ecosystem. The program will support research- and technology-based startups, facilitate collaboration between inventors and entrepreneurs, provide training and networking opportunities, and offer support for prototyping and proof of principle for innovative technologies.

The Faculty Entrepreneurship Academy (FEA) at Georgetown University helps innovators and Principal Investigators turn their innovative ideas into successful ventures. Part of the Georgetown Tech Ventures (GTV) program, FEA provides faculty with the knowledge, skills, and networks needed to launch spinout companies. This initiative, developed by the Office of Technology Commercialization and other partners, guides faculty in maximizing the commercial potential of their research.
