Materials Transfers and Confidentiality Agreements
Section: For Inventors
Material Transfer Agreement (MTA)
When materials are transferred into or out of Georgetown, a Material Transfer Agreement is needed. The purpose of this agreement is to ensure that the investigator's freedom to perform research, publish data and exert rights to ownership is not limited and the provisions of the MTA should not conflict with academic missions of Georgetown or create unnecessary risk for the institution.
To request an MTA, fill out the on-line MTA request form, and the Office will begin processing the MTA. If you have received an MTA from a company or other institution, please forward the document to the Office for review and signature.
Click here to download the MTA request form. It can be e-mailed directly to Tracy Bruehs. with the subject line: "MTA request".
Confidential Disclosure Agreement (CDA)
Confidential Disclosure Agreements are needed to protect the intellectual property rights of the Inventors. Before disclosing confidential information to parties outside of Georgetown, contact the Office. The Office will draft a CDA and obtain the appropriate signature. If you have received a CDA from a company or other institution, please forward the document to the Office for review and signature.Quick Links
